About TEDx
What is TEDx?
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxMaplewood, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxMaplewood event, TED Talks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
Our why
We want to provide access to thought-provoking ideas by showcasing the voices of our community and to promote the power of sharing knowledge. TEDxMaplewood is a vehicle for self-expression, a place to celebrate the joy of curiosity, and explore a tapestry of rich perspectives.
It is a forum to draw on diverse, not divisive, ideas and apply these thoughts in new ways in our own lives and conversations.
We believe in empathy through authentic connection and the ability to understand others through their narratives.
